Shipakala Academy hosting “Shilper Aloye Bangabandhu”

Marking the National Mourning Day – the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is hosting 18-day programmes at its premises, under the title “Shilper Aloye Bangabandhu”. 

At a special memorial event under the programmes yesterday at the National Theatre Hall auditorium, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor was present as chief guest. Bangabandhu's personal secretary Dr. Md. Farashuddin was present as special guest, while senior public administration secretary Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury spoke at the event, chaired by BSA's Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky. In today's programmes at the same venue, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam will be chief guest while Begum Akhtary Momtaz (acting secretary, cultural affairs ministry), Professor Nasrin Ahmed (Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dhaka University) and Ujjal Bikash Dutta, member, Public Service Commission will be special guests. 

Aside from the discussion, solo and choral songs, dance, recitation and presentations by small ethnic groups will be held today as well.
