Remembering Anwar Hossain on his birthday

Anwar Hossain lives on people’s hearts till today, with his famous role Nawab Sirajuddoulah. The beloved actor was born on this day in 1930, in a village named Murulia, in Jamalpur.

He first appeared in the big screen in 1961, with the film Tomar Amar, directed by Mohiuddin, where he played the role of a villain. He was also a theatre artiste and worked with theater activist Askar Ibne Shaikh in his college days in Mymensingh.

Anwar Hossain devoted his entire life to acting. His roles in Jibon Theke Neya, Shurjo Snan, Orunodoyer Ognishakkhi , Golapi Ekhon Traine added a new dimension to his career, making him one of the top actors of his time.

He also bagged plenty of awards for his tremendous work and received Ekushey Padak as well. Before dying at the age of 82, he contributed a lot to the industry.
