Latest issue of DOT launched

Another feather was added in the cap of DOT, a renowned art and architectural magazine of the country at the launching ceremony of its Issue 01, Volume 04. The event took place at Dhaka Gallery, a supplementary of Delvistaa, located in Banani. The building and interiors of the gallery is designed by renowned architect Mustapha Khalid Palash. The event included the 12th cycle of Shah Cement DOT Student Design Awards and a declaration and award-giving ceremony. DOT has been generously supported by the Shah Cement Ltd, for last three years, as a measure to foster architectural education in Bangladesh.

Like all previous issues of DOT, this issue portrays works of local architects and artists in a journal that is graphically laudable. For the last 12 issues, DOT has created windows for local architects, artists, photographers and students of architecture to publish their works.  

The Editor of DOT, Mustapha Khalid Palash, spoke about the crisis of articles, the importance of professional journals and need for ever burgeoning readers. Editorial Board of DOT, Lt Col (Retd) Mustaba K Ali, Head of Projects, Eastern Bank Ltd; Dr Zakiul Islam and Dr Sujaul Islam, teachers from the Department of Architecture of BUET and NSU respectively were present among others at the event.

The Brand Manager of Shah Cement Ltd, Tasnuva Haider, expressed her best wishes for DOT. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the General Secretary of Delvistaa Foundation, philanthropist and architect Shahzia Islam Anton. It was conducted by architect Rezaur Rahman and Khan Noirit Mustapha, Assistant Editor of DOT.
