Labaid Foundation holds art camp at Cox's Bazar

Labaid Foundation organised the fifth edition of its art camps at Inani beach, Cox's Bazar from February 5-10 with famous artists of the country as participants. The theme of the art camp was “Jiboner Jonno Shilpo” (Art for Life”). Eminent artist Samarjit Roy Chowdhury inaugurated the art camp.

Some of the celebrated names from the art fraternity at the camp were Abul Monsur, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Abdus Shakoor Shah, Abul Barak Alvi, Alakesh Ghosh, KMA Quayyum, Biren Shome, Abdul Mannan, Ranjit Das, Golam Faruk Bebul, Rezaun Nabi, Ivi Zaman, Dilara Begum Joly, Nasim Ahmed Nadvi, Samsul Alam Azad and Naima Hoque.

On the second day of the art camp managing director of Labaid Foundation Dr. AM Shamim joined the artists in informal discussions on art and culture.

About 100 paintings by 30 artists were subsequently put up at an informal exhibition on an open space.

Labaid Foundation will exhibit the paintings at a prominent gallery and the proceeds from sales will go towards the medical treatment of the poor.  Some unsold paintings will be on display at Labaid Hospital and other branches of Labaid Hospital.
