Khaled Khan's birth anniversary today

Marking the birth anniversary of noted actor Khaled Khan, popularly known as Juboraj to his countless fans and colleagues, a programme will be held at the Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 6pm today.

Juboraj Sangho has announced the programme to pay tribute to the evergreen actor who passed away in 2013 after losing a battle to motor neuron illness. 

A dominating performer, Khaled enthralled his audience on stage and on-screen for three decades. The multi-talented personality started his career as a member of Nagarik Natya Sampradaya in 1975. Since then, he appeared in more than 30 plays and mesmerised audiences with his bold and lively performances onstage.

His captivating performance in numerous plays, including “Rokto Korobi”, “Galileo” and “Irsha” are still etched in the hearts of many theatre goers.  

Khaled forayed into television with drama “Shirighor” that went on air on BTV in 1981. It was his bold acting in drama serials “Rupnagar”, “Shokal Sondha” and “Eishob Dinratri” that took him to the peak of his popularity. Television viewers of the '90s still remember the actor for his dialogue “Chi chi, tumi eto kharap?”

Not just as an actor, Khaled also shone as a director. As a theatre director Khaled directed “Muktodhara”, “Putul Khelar Jibon”, “Kaal Shondhay”, “Master Builder”, “Khudit Pashan” and his last masterpiece “Shubochoner Rupboti”.

The artiste was also renowned as one of the finest elocutionists in Bangladesh.
