Five personalities accorded reception

Manikganj Shilpakala Academy accorded a reception to five renowned cultural personalities of Manikganj district for their outstanding contributions. They were given certificates, medals and Tk.10, 000 each at a function at central Shaheed Minar in Manikganj recently.

The personalities who have won recognition are Kodom Ali (folklore), Robi Pal (jatra), AKM Azil Islam Shukku (art), Sunil Kumer Chakrabarty (music), and Korobi Ahmed Beauty (dance).

Jahid Maleque Swapan, local lawmaker and state minister to the Health and Family Welfare Ministry, handed the certificates, medals and cash to the recipients. 

Later, a cultural function was held. The members of Manikganj Shilpakala Academy performed chorus and solo songs, dances and recited poetry.
