Post Eid programme at National Museum

Cultural organisation Amra Surjamukhi will hold a post-Eid programme featuring discussion and an evening of rendition and recitation of songs and poems at Poet Sufia Kamal auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum on September 24.

The featured artistes at the event are noted Nazrul singer Nasima Shaheen Fancy and elocutionist Shirina Bithi.

Nasima Shaheen will set off the event with a Nazrul Sangeet. She will perform other songs of the National Poet. “Apart from this, I'll present songs of three poets (Atul Prasad, DL Roy and Rajanikanta Sen); golden oldies and original songs (adhunik) from my solo album,” said the artiste.  

Nasima Shaheen regularly performs covers of eminent singers. This time she hopes to perform an array of golden oldies.

Barrister M Amir-Ul-Islam will grace the occasion as chief guest while Lt Gen (retd) Harun-ar-Rashid (Bir Protik) will attend the event as special guest.  Chief Coordinator of International Crimes Tribunal Muhammad Abdul Hannan Khan will preside over the programme.

Cultural activist and coordinating secretary of Amra Surjamukhi, Shafiqul Islam Selim will deliver welcome address.
