Colours of Chittagong enthralls audience

On Monday evening, audiences present at Hall 24 Chittagong in the port city enjoyed a colourful programme featuring music, dance and dazzling fashion show. 

With the slogan “My City, My Pride”, BD Next organised “Colours of Chittagong 2015” to promote the unique culture, heritage, diversity, tradition, lifestyle and ecology of the region.

The event featured music, dance, indigenous dance, fashion show and screening of a documentary.

The programme began with a dance performance by Swapan Barua and his troupe followed by a fashion show where models walked the ramp wearing outfits designed by popular fashion houses of Chittagong, including Dolls House, Rowshan Boutique House, Mia Bibi and Shoilpik.

Then Nabila came on the stage and sang “Dhin Tana” and “Amar Majhe Nei Ekhon Ami”. Later, Lux-Channel i superstar Nadia walked the ramp, followed by an indigenous dance performance.

Organisers also honoured seven eminent citizens of the port city for their contribution in their respective arenas at the event. The citizens include lyricist and composer Abdul Gafur Hali, poet and artist Khalid Ahsan, photographer Shoeb Farooqui, Artist Ahmed Newaj, entrepreneurs Kohinur Kamal, Rahedul Alam Mamun and Mizanur Rahman.

Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin attended the event as chief guest while deputy commissioner of Chittagong Mezbah Uddin and joint secretary of Chittagong Press Club, Chowdhury Farid were present as 
special guests.
