Amateur tournament announced
A Celebrity Cricket Festival will take place at the Mirpur Indoor Cricket Stadium, which will be turned into a six episode entertainment-packed television show for Gazi TV for the upcoming Eid. Organisers of the show, titled Brevar Celebrity Cricket Festival Powered by Banglalink, made the announcement in a press conference held in the capital's La Vinci Hotel on June 6.
This show has been organised to provide the Bangladeshi cricket lovers with joy and entertainment during the Eid holidays. The show will bring together celebrated personalities from showbiz and former professional cricketers. Six teams, combining TV stars and cricketers alike, will fight for the title.
The tournament will feature both male and female celebrities, and the six teams will play a total of 15 league matches, before the semifinals and final.
A number of celebrities, including former cricketer Rokibul Hasan, filmmaker Redwan Rony, actors Mousumi Hamid, Mishu Sabbir, Ariq Anam Khan, Nirob, Tawsif and others attended the press meet.
