Baul Mela begins in Manikganj

A three-day Baul Mela titled “Modhur Mela” began at Baul Complex at Bhakum village in Manikganj on Monday night.

Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP formally inaugurated the fair held in memory of Modhu Boyati, father of renowned singer and lawmaker from Maniganj-2 constituency Mamtaz Begum. Mamtaz Begum has been organising the event since the death of her father 17 years ago.

Mamtaz Begum, Kajol Dewan and many Baul singers of the country attended the function and rendered songs. Thousands of people from all walks of life enjoyed the inaugural function. The event will continue till Wednesday night.
