“Krishnakali” screened at IGCC

The journey of Soumitra Chattopadhyay

Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) screened documentary film 'Krishnakali' on famous Indian actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay, made by Bangladeshi writer, poet, cultural activist and director Masud Karim at IGCC Auditorium on June 12. A group discussion before the screening of the film was presided over by Professor Emeritus Dr. Anisuzzaman. 

The shooting of the documentary was partly done in Kolkata last year. The rest was completed in Krishnanagar, Nadia, India and Koya village, Kustia, Brahmanbaria, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The documentary covered the vivid life journey of Chattopadhay starting from his childhood. Many unknown facts of his life were revealed in the documentary. Noted Lalon singer Farida Parvin lent her voice to the title song of the documentary.

Soumitra Chaterjee said, “Masud Karim made the documentary after tireless efforts over the last one year. I express my gratitude and congratulate him.”
