Shahid, Alia set for “Eena Meena Deeka”

Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will soon be seen dancing to a remixed rendition of the 1957's hit song, “Eena Meena Deeka”, in their new film “Shandaar”, being directed by Vikas Bahl. 

While the music for the 1957 film “Aasha” was composed by C Ramchandra, Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle lent their voices to the original song. 

It is said that its lyrics were inspired by kids who were chanting the nursery rhyme, 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe' outside the musician's studio when the song was being composed. That chant inspired Ramchandra and his assistant, John Gomes to compose the first line — “Eena meena deeka, de dai damanika” — of the song. Gomes added the words “Maka naka”.

The new version has been composed by Mikey McCleary, who is known for his remixes of classic Bollywood songs. The video was shot during the course of the film's schedule
