Apple's CEO Tim Cook in India

Bollywood bash in Mumbai

iPhone and iPad maker Apple's CEO Tim Cook was at the centre of a gathering of who's who of Bollywood organised by superstar Shahrukh Khan in Mumbai last Wednesday.

In fact, Cook's high-profile visit to India, during which he called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, kicked off by a dinner with the celebrities of Bollywood at Khan's house “Mannat” where Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, Aaamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, choreographer Farah Khan, music maestro AR Rahman were in attendance, among others.

Aamir's joining the do at Shahrukh's residence was a big talking point in Bollywood circles because the two superstars have been projected as rivals in the Hindi commercial cinema. There was a time when the two Khans have taken digs at each other at pressers but that phase appeared to be over.

At the party for Cook, Aamir brought toys for Shahrukh's two-year-old son AbRam and the latter acknowledged that by tweeting “aamir_khan thank you for the toys.”

Bollywood grapevine had it that Aamir stayed back after the party to hang out with Shahrukh who went public saying AbRam played with the toys Aamir brought till late that night.

It was for the first time Cook rubbed shoulders with Bollywood biggies and he posed for photo sessions with almost all of them on a day of big night-out. In a way, Cook was the apple of Bollywood eye for a night.
