“Dil Dhadakne Do” takes box office by storm

If numbers are any indication, then director Zoya Akhtar's latest flick “Dil Dhadakne Do” is all set to hit the jackpot at the box office. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has garnered more than Rs 65 crore in the first four days of its release -- 42.82 crore in the domestic market and 22.38 crore in the overseas market.

Based on the theme of a dysfunctional Punjabi family, “Dil Dhadakne Do” opened to mixed reviews, but a positive word-of-mouth helped it at the ticket window. Its business saw a huge jump on day two after a dismal opening day collection, and Sunday brought an even wider smile on the producers' faces.

The film featuring Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles was released on June 5.
