Animesh Aich debuts as novelist

Popular director Animesh Aich has been branching out of his small screen career recently, having released his debut film last year. This year the director is testing his toes in even newer terrains, this time a literary one. From Pohela Falgun, the director's debut novel will hit the Tantralipi publishers stalls in Ekushey Boi Mela.

The book, titled “Shohorer Baare Ekdol Matal” is edited by Dhrubo Trosh. Animesh Aich dedicated his first published novel to the late Humayun Ahmed.

Animesh Aich is optimistic about the book's release, saying, “I feel quite good about this endeavor, and I hope readers will appreciate my work.”

While this may be his first book, the director is no stranger to writing and publishing. He has periodically written short stories and columns published in newspapers. He has also published a collection of short stories in 2013 titled “Shomoyer Golpo,” where one short story is to his credit.

“I am interested in writing more novels after this,” he added, “I hope to write regularly from now on.”

Currently, the director is busy working on some small screen ventures, and is looking forward to the release of a single episode play on Valentine's Day.
