AL is a piece of diamond: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said Bangladesh got all the achievements under the Awami League leadership.
Hasina, who heads the ruling party, said: "Awami League is like a piece of diamond… the more you cut it, the more it will shine.”
She was addressing a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital this afternoon marking the party’s 65th founding anniversary.
Hasina alleged that all members of the Zia family, including late president Ziaur Rahman, his wife BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and their two sons Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Koko, are killers.
The rally organised by Dhaka city unit AL started around 3:30pm with its acting president MA Aziz in the chair.
People from different parts of the capital and its adjoining areas thronged the Suhrawardy Udyan carrying colorful festoons, placards to make the founding anniversary successful.
