AL behind terrorism, militancy in country

BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday alleged that the ruling Awami League is behind militancy and terrorism in the country.

"AL has the arms; they have exploded crude bombs, attacked and fired gunshots during processions. They are responsible for the violence in the country. So, it can be easily said that AL is behind terrorism as well,” Fakhrul said at a discussion at Jatiya Press Club in the capital.

Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal organised the discussion marking the 50th birthday of BNP's senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.

He claimed the AL has been trying to tie the BNP with militancy and terrorism.

Referring to the recent clash between two factions of BCL at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, he said BCL has made all educational institutes a battlefield.
