Akon hits a treble

Nigerian striker Kester Akon slotted the fifth hattrick of the Bangladesh Premier League as Brothers Union posted an emphatic 5-1 win over newcomers Uttar Baridhara Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
Apart from Akon treble, Haitian forward Augustine Walson netted a brace to exact revenge for their 2-3 defeat against the same opposition in the first leg of the league. The win took All Oranges to fourth position on 21 points, one point behind third-placed Mohammedan SC while Uttar Baridhara remained at eighth position with 10 points from 14 matches.
Brothers took the lead in the very fifth minute through Akon, who side-volleyed to find the back of the net before he doubled the margin in the 27th minute with a placing shot.
Uttar Baridhara pulled one goal back through Sujan Biswas two minutes later but the Gopeebagh outfit restored two-goal cushion when Walson scored in the 40th minute with a solo effort.
Walson took the match away from Baridhara by scoring his second on the stroke of the half time while Kester struck his third six minutes into the second half to complete his hattrick.
