ACC to introduce automation to bring transparency

The Anti-Corruption Commission has initiated a move to introduce automation system to bring transparency and accountability in the national anti-graft body and make it work faster.

“The commission has already prepared the 'Road Map 2015-16' to bring the entire organisation under automation system and we (commission) approved it,” ACC commissioner Dr Nasiruddin Ahmed told the news agency on Thursday.

On October 21, 2014, ACC at a meeting decided to install automation system so that its capacity could be strengthened by establishing a “digitalised system” which will be paperless.

Automation is a condition of being automatically controlled or operated. At present, the ACC conduct probes into the graft allegations manually. But, the ACC officials will be able to work without the use of paper after installing the automation system.

All investigative officers and top officials (commissioners and secretary) of the commission will have separate password to access the automation system, said an ACC official involved in the automation process wishing anonymity.

He said the ACC officials will register the graft allegations in the system. The commissioners will take into account the allegations from the system and will give “official order” asking its officials to conduct probe into the allegations.
