The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started collecting information and documents to launch enquiry into the allegations of amassing wealth by Nur Hossain, the prime accused in the Narayanganj seven murders.

The ACC will also take action if it finds evidence of any illegal transaction of money by the three Rab officials, who were fired over their alleged link with the murders, said ACC secretary Faizur Rahman Chowdhury.

The Rab officials are Lt Colonel Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, Major Arif Hossain and Lt Commander SM Masud Rana.

“After the primary investigation, we will decide whether to start probe against the three Rab officials,” Chowdhury said.

Fayzur was replying to queries from reporters during at monthly press briefing of the ACC at its Segunbagicha office today.

Nur Hossain and his five associates have been absconding following the recent abduction of Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam, lawyer Chandan Sarker and five others.

They are accused in a case filed by Nazrul's widow Selina Islam.

On May 6, the three Rab officials were forced into retirement after Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam alleged that some officials of Rab-11 had killed Nazrul and others in exchange of Tk 6 crore from councillor Nur Hossain and his accomplices.

In compliance with a High Court order, the tro was arrested on May 17 and 18.
