‘720 people died showing Covid-19 like symptoms since March 8’
Says a report of Dhaka University’s Centre for Genocide Studies
Some 720 people have died so far showing Covid-19 like symptoms in the country since the first coronavirus case was confirmed on March 8, said a report of Dhaka University's Centre for Genocide Studies.
The report also found a downtrend in such deaths in the last three weeks, showing a 13 percent decline in week-12 (May 24-30). In week-11 (May 17-23), 62 such deaths were reported compared to 54 the following week. Week-10 had 67 deaths, said the report.
It, however, said the deaths may not be related to Covid-19.
No such deaths took place during the first two weeks of the outbreak, it added.
CGS shared outcomes of the report styled "Covid-19 Graphics" with media on Wednesday.
It was the eighth edition of a series of such reports prepared by Bangladesh Peace Observatory, an initiative of CGS.
