6 killed as bus rams auto-rickshaw in Ctg

Six people were killed as a bus crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Satkania upazila of Chittagong this evening.

The accident took place around 5:50pm in Pathanerpool area, Khaled Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station, told The Daily Star Online. 

He said five died on the spot while the sixth succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in the port city. All the deceased were travelling in the auto-rickshaw.

The police officer said the bus was going to Cox’s Bazar from Chittagong. 

The dead were identified as CNG driver Abu Syed, 25, passengers Md Soyeb, 17, Amulya Das, 53, Jasim Uddin, 35, Shamsul Alam, 80, and Shahriar, 15, AKM Kawsar Chowdhury, OC of Dohazari Highway Police Station, told our Chittagong correspondent.
