5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Dhaka

A 5.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Dhaka and some other parts of the country this afternoon.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in the India-Myanmar border region, about 279 km East of capital Dhaka, confirms Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) in the city's Agargaon area.

The earthquake, categorised as a moderate one, was felt at 4.46pm, according to the BMD.

No reports of damage caused by the quake has been logged yet.
