5 kids drown in two dists

Five children drowned in a water body (beel) and a pond in Kushtia and Rajbari districts yesterday.
Three children drowned in a water body (beel) in Barkhada area in Sadar upazila of Kushtia yesterday, after seven hours they went missing.
The deceased are-- Likhon Rahman, 5, son of Azibor Rahman, his cousin Shakil Hossain, 7, son of Mojibor Rahman, and Tarun Hossain, 6, son of Mohammad Sohel of Barkhada area in the outskirts of the town.
Abdul Khaleque, officer in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, quoting victim's family members said the trio went out of their house around 10:30am and remained missing since then. After conducting a day long search, locals spotted their floating bodies on Barkhada water body around 5:30pm and informed the police.
The kids might have been drowned while collecting water lily from the water body, the OC added.
 In Rajbari, two minor girls drowned while bathing in a pond at Mohadevpur village in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.  
The deceased were identified as Dola Khatun, 7, daughter of Abdur Razzak, and Suborna Khatun, 6, daughter of Akon Mondol of the village.
Victim's family members said, the duo slipped into a nearby pond owned by one Mohan Mia of the village around 7:30am to take a bath and drowned there.
Contacted, Atiar Rahman, chairman of Mizanpur Union Parishad, said locals found their bodies floating in the pond and informed the police around 1:30pm.
