4 workers ‘kidnapped’ in Khagrachhari

Four construction workers were reportedly abducted by unidentified miscreants from a bridge construction site in Matiranga upazila on Sunday night.

The names of the victims could not be known immediately.

Suniti Tripura, caretaker of the site, said they heard the sound of several gunshots around 11:00pm and since then they could not trace out the four workers.

The miscreants might have kidnapped the four workers for tolls, their fellows said.

The bridge is being built on the Khagrachhari-Chittagong Highway in Bengamara area by the Roads and Highway Department under the Eastern Bridge Investment Project.
