4 Kushtia teachers jailed over cheating in exam

A mobile court sentenced four teachers to two years’ imprisonment each in Khoksa upazila of Kushtia today on charge of making answer scripts of math of the ongoing JSC examination at a house.
The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and its madrasa equivalent Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations began throughout the country on Friday. The math exam was held today.
The court also fined Tk 5,000 each and sent them to jail, said Rebeka Khan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Khoksa.
The UNO said they had information that they were doing the unlawful act by taking a set of questionnaire from the Shomospur High School exam centre.
The convicts are Afil Uddin, Deb Kumar, Sarwar Hossain of Shomospur High School and Biswanath Das of Ambaria High School.
The mobile court, led by the UNO, assisted by the police officials, raided the resident of Deb Kumar around 12:30pm and caught them red-hand.
During the drive, they seized a questionnaire, nine sets of answer shits and a calculator from them.
