4 deals inked with Cambodia

Bangladesh and Cambodia today signed four instruments including three agreements and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further boost bilateral ties especially in the fields of trade, industry, agriculture and culture.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her visiting Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen witnessed the signing of the instruments at the Prime Minister's Office after the official talks.

The first agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Commission for Promoting Bilateral Cooperation between Bangladesh and Cambodia was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and also the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation HOR Namhong and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam.

Then the agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between Bangladesh and Cambodia was signed by Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu for Bangladesh and Minister attached to Prime Minister and Secretary General of Cambodian Council for Development SOK Chenda Sophea on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

The 3rd agreement on Cultural Cooperation between Bangladesh and Cambodia was signed by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Cambodia’s Minister for Culture and Fine Arts PHOEURNG Sackona.

The lone Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Scientific and Technical Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture was signed by Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury and Cambodian Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries OUK Rabun.

Besides, a 17-point joint statement was signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and also the Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation HOR Namhong and State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam.
