Hundreds of passengers remain stuck in a 36-kilometre tailback on Dhaka-Chittagong highway since early today following a road crash in Comilla.

A huge number of vehicles were seen stranded on the highway stretching from Baldakhal in Daudkandi upazila to Chandina upazila of Comilla when the report was filed around 11:30am, reports a correspondent from the district.

The tailback began around 3:00am after two trucks collided head-on at Raypur in Daudkandi upazila.

The tailback created due to random movement of traffic after the damaged trucks were removed from the highway, said Sergeant of Eliotganj Highway Police Md Hasan.

Taher, a driver of Dhaka-bound bus from Chittagong of Soudia Paribahan, told this correspondent that it took him more than five hours to travel 28 kilometres from Chandina.
