Customs officials seized 32 kilograms of gold from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital this afternoon.

The gold was recovered from a lavatory of the flight which came from Dubai and landed at Dhaka airport around 3:00pm, Ishrat Jahan Ruma, an assistant commissioner (Customs) at the airport, told The Daily Star.

Two passengers -- Mohammad Ali and Sharif -- were arrested on charge of carrying the gold illegally, she added.
Tipped off, the customs officials conducted a search in the aircraft and recovered the gold.
