3 run over by trains in capital

In a span of less than three hours, three people including a minor died in separate incidents after getting hit by trains at Malibagh rail crossing and Karwan Bazar area in the capital today.

Saleha Khatun, 50, a small business owner, and Mukul Hossain, 45, a construction worker died at the Malibagh rail crossing being run over by trains.

Mukul was hit by a train around 1:30pm while Saleha was stomped by another train around 4:00pm.

Both of them were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Meanwhile, Billal Hossain, 10, died on the spot at Karwan Bazar around 4:00pm after a train hit him.

Abdul Mazid, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station confirmed the deaths.
