3 motorcyclists die in Savar crash

Three motorcyclists were killed as their vehicle was rammed by a truck on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar on the outskirts of the capital this evening.

Police said accident took place at Hemayetpur around 6:30pm, leaving the three critically injured, reports our Savar correspondent.

Doctors declared Nurul Islam Zadu, 24, a student of Mirpur College, Farhad Hossain, 24, a student of Sreepur Government College, and Sultan, 23, dead after they were brought to Ayesha Memorial Hospital.

Shafiqul Islam, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in Savar Model Police Station, told The Daily Star that a speedy Savar-bound truck hit the motorcycle from behind. 

Police arrested the truck driver with his assistant and seized the truck.
