3 labourers killed in Tangail road accident

Three day labourers were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Tangail highway at Mirzapur upazila early today.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Mohammad Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Gorai Highway Police Station, told The Daily Star that the truck loaded with plain iron sheets was going North from Chattogram.

The accident took place at Postkamuri Charpara around 2:00am when the driver lost control over the steering and hit a road divider, leaving the three labourers dead on the spot, the OC said.

Being informed, highway police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
