3 killed in Natore road crash

Three people including two drivers were killed and at least six injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the Dhaka-Natore Highway in Natore Sadar upazila early today.

One of the deceased was identified as truck driver Sirajul Islam, 35, of Joynagar village in Ishwardi upazila of Pabna, reports our Natore correspondent.

The two other deceased were identified as driver and helper of the bus but their names could not be known immediately.

Police said a bus of Keya Paribahan heading towards Natore town from Dhaka collided head-on with an oncoming truck at Haybatpur around 5:00am, leaving both the drivers and helper dead on the spot and six others injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and whisked off the injured persons to Natore Sadar Hospital.

The bodies were sent to the hospital for autopsy.
