3 killed as truck hits auto-rickshaw in Sirajganj

At least three people were killed and four others injured after a truck and a CNG-run three-wheeler auto-rickshaw collided head-on in Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj this morning.

Two of the deceased were identified as Ibrahim, 35, and Shahajab, 32, both passengers of the auto-rickshaw and from the upazila, our Sirajganj correspondent reports quoting police.

The road crash took place in Parkhola area on the Nobobari-Bogra highway around 8:30am, said Hasan Shamim Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur Police Station.

According to him the three victims died on the spot. Police had arrived on the scene to take away the bodies when last reported. The injured were rushed to nearby medical centres.

The truck driver and the vehicle managed to flee the scene.
