3 JMB men held in Kurigram

Detective Branch of police arrested three alleged operatives of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Kurigram Sadar upazila this morning.
The law enforcers also seized seven cocktails and two machetes from their possession, reports our Kurigram correspondent.
They identified the arrestees as Anwar Hossain, second-in-command of the JMB, and Zobed Ali (Zubaer) and Monowar Hossain Biplob operatives of the banned outfit.
DB Inspector Mahbub who headed the detectives in the operation said acting on a tip-off they picked up the three with seven cocktails and two machetes on the Kurigram-Rangpur highway in Dasherhat area around 4:15am.
Superintendent of Police in Kurigram Shanjoy Kumar Kundu said, “There are charges of blasting bombs and carrying out sabotage against them. They are fugitives. We think they were planning to carry out sabotage on Pahela Bhishakh programme here.”
Police produced the three before Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Kurigram which later sent them to jail.
