3 held with fake notes in capital

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel arrested three persons including a couple with fake notes worth Tk 1.59 lakh and seized currency making equipment in Hazaribagh in the capital today.

Acting on a tip-off, the elite force raided a house 'Chowdhury Villa' and detained Suman, 25, and his wife Kamala, 20, around 2:30am, Raihan Uddin Khan, operation officer of Rab-2, said at a press briefing at its Agargaon office in the capital.

They seized a scanner machine, printer, dyes, special papers and colours from the residence, Khan said.

According to the information given by Suman and Kamala, the Rab team nabbed Mamun, 24, from a local market, he added.
