3 BNP leaders get bail

The High Court today granted anticipatory bail to BNP leaders Mirza Abbas, Amanullah Aman and Goyeshwar Chandra Roy for six weeks in a murder case.

The murder case was filed after an unknown person was killed in Malibagh area of the capital during a demonstration centring the March for Democracy programme called by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on December 29 last year.

Rampura police filed the case against the three BNP leaders on December 30.

The High Court Bench of Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed granted the bail today after holding hearing on three separate bail petitions filed by the trio.

The accused BNP leaders appeared before the court during the hearing of the petitions.
