2 students killed in Gaibandha picnic bus plunge

Two schoolchildren were killed when a bus carrying them home from a picnic veered off the road and plunged into a ditch in Gaibandha this evening.

The ill-fated students are Rakib, 14 and Moksed, 13.

At least 10 others were hurt, reports our Gaibandha correspondent quoting Gopal Chandra Chakrabarti, officer-in-charge of Gaibandha police station.

Around 60 students from Obikhari Dakhil Madrasha went to Shopnopuri in Dinajpur for the picnic with two buses.

Driver of one of the buse lost control over the steering and skidded off the road around 9:30pm at Holia area on Gaibandha-Balashighat road.
