2 septic tank cleaners die in Savar

Two workers died while cleaning a septic tank of a house at Nagarkunda in Savar on the outskirts of Dhaka this afternoon.
The identities of the deceased, aged around 32 and 35 were not available instantly, reports our Savar correspondent.
Md Ali, the house lord, hired the day labourers from Savar around 3:00pm for cleaning the septic tank, said police and fire service officials.
They climbed down the 30-foot deep (around) tank to clean it at about 5:00pm and did not return.
Later, fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies of the workers.
The reasons behind their death were not clear immediately but Anwar Hossain, a warehouse inspector and in-charge of Savar unit of Fire Service and Civil Defense said they might have died after inhaling the toxic gases.
Police sent the bodies to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said Motaleb Miah, office-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.
