2 rival Jubo League supporters killed in Benapole

Two rival supporters of Jubo League, the youth wing of the ruling Awami League, were killed in attacks at Benapole in Jessore this morning.
Police have identified the two as Iman Ali, 27, of Shibnathpur Baroputa village and Lalon, 26, of Uttar Baroputa village, our Benapole correspondent reports.
The two youths were supporters of two rival groups of Jubo League in Putkhali union.
Rivals hurled a bomb on Iman at Baroputa Bazar around 10:00am leaving him dead on the spot, Apurbo Hasan, acting officer-in-charge of Benapole Police Station, told The Daily Star.
Iman was talking with his party men there when the attack took place.
Half an hour later, supporters of the group, armed with firearms and sharp weapons, attacked their opponents.
Lalon received three bullets, one in the head, and fell into a roadside ditch and died shortly, said Apurbo.
Law enforcers said the two factions might have locked into a clash over establishing supremacy in the area.
Additional policemen were deployed in the area to avert further clash, the police official added.
