2 ‘muggers’ lynched in Sirajganj

Two suspected muggers were lynched by a mob at Kamarkhand in Sirajganj early today.

Milon al Mahmud allies Maznu, 30 and another man, whose identity could not be known, were beaten dead when they allegedly attempted to extort a businessman in Jhaoil Bazar area yesterday night, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting police.

Locals chased and caught the duo and beat them after three youths went to Ramchandra Sharkar’s jewelry shop to extort money, Md Babul Uddin Sardar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kamarkhand Police Station told the correspondent.

Maznu’s body found in a bush near the market, the OC said.

Police recovered the bodies and sent to Sirajganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Maznu had two cases filed against him for alleged robbery and murder charges.
