Two accused today confessed to a magistrate of selling leaked medical and dental college admission tests' question papers.

The accused are: Parvez Khan and Jakir Hossain Dipu, said a court official.

"We sold to five students of different coaching centres of Farmgate area in 2014 and 2015 and received Tk 7-8 lakh from each student,"they equivocally said in their confessional statements.

They also told the magistrate that they had collected the students, took money and national identity cards from them and later introduced them to Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan Munnu, the ringleader of the gang.

Later, the ringleader gave them Tk 50,000 for each student. They said they did not know how many people were involved in the incident and who supplied those leaked questions for the students.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansary recorded their statements after Kazi Abu Sayeed, a senior assistant superintendent of police of Criminal Investigation Dèpartment (CID) and also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, brought them at his chamber.

After recording their statements, the magistrate sent them to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.

Meanwhile, another Dhaka court today placed Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan Munnu, a ringleader of the gang, on a five-day fresh remand after the IO sought an eight-day remand prayer in connection with the same case.

Earlier, two other accused--Samiul Zafar and SM Sanwar Hossain--gave confessional statements before magistrates admitting their involvement in leaking of the question papers.

On July 19, CID arrested Sanwar, who provided information about leaked papers of medical and dental admission tests in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Based on his information, a CID team conducted raids in different areas of Mirpur on the same day and arrested Jasim, Parvez and Dipu, and Samiul in this connection.
