2 Bangladeshis injured in Malaysia factory fire

Two Bangladeshi nationals were seriously injured in a fire at a wood factory in Jalan Theatre, Jinjang Utara of Malaysia on Sunday night, reports The Star Online.

City Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Azizan Ismail said the department had received the distress call at around 11:50pm and rushed to the scene immediately.

“We arrived on the scene several minutes after getting the call. Thirty seven personnel were deployed from five stations -- Jinjang, Sentul, Hang Tuah, Kepong and Bukit Bintang -- to put out the fire.

Azizan said that two Bangladeshi men in their 40s, employees at the factory, had suffered burns to their bodies and were sent to the hospital before fire and rescue workers arrived to put out the blaze.

It is learnt that the men are in stable condition.

Azizan said that about 90 percent of the factory had been destroyed by the fire.
