Around 200 people have given their depositions on the third day of public hearing today before a high-powered probe body at the Siddhirganj Power Station in Narayanganj which is investigating the sensational seven-murder.
The seven-member investigation body formed in line with a High Court order, started to record depositions of the witnesses at the station’s rest house around 10:00am, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.

A total of 198 out of 287 people who have registered their names gave their depositions till 6:15pm.
Of them, 40 people, mostly neighbours and relatives of the victims, submitted their depositions before the probe body by this time.
Rest of the registers would get chance to give their depositions on the next hearing day as the probe body will record depositions of civil society members tomorrow.
Earlier, it arranged two mass hearings at Narayanganj Circuit House on May12 and 15.
Before the both mass hearings, the committee headed by Md Shahjahan Ali Mollah, additional secretary of the public administration ministry, recorded statements of family members and relatives of the seven victims on May 10.

The government formed the seven-member committee on May 7 a day after the High Court ordered to investigate the abduction and murder of seven people including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam.

On April 27, seven people -- Nazrul Islam and his four associates and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver -- were kidnapped separately, but around the same time from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road.
Six bodies were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river three days later and another the next day.
The other victims are Swapan, Tajul Islam, Liton, Jahangir and Ibrahim.
