BNP-led 19-party combine has deferred by a day its today's schedule demonstration programme.

BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came with the revised programme during a press briefing at the party's central office in Nayapaltan of the capital today.

The combine alliance was scheduled to stage demonstrations and processions in every thana units of capital today as the Dhaka Metropolitan Police did not permit it for holding a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan of the capital.

The rally was to begin at 2:00pm today at the udyan.

Rizvi however did not mention the reason of the deferment during today's briefing.

Talking about yesterday's incident at Rajshahi University, Rizvi condemned the attack on general students by Bangladesh Chhatra League men and police.

He also claimed that 200 students were injured as BCL men exploded crude bombs and police fired gunshots.
