14-party to hold gayebana janaza for blockade victims

The Awami League-led 14-party alliance will hold a gayebana namaz-e-janaza in Dhaka on January 30 for those who died in violence of the BNP-led 20-party alliance this year.

The janaza would be held at national mosque Baitul Mukarram, Mohammad Nasim, convener of the 14-party alliance and a presidium member of the AL, told reporters after holding a meeting at the party’s Dhanmondi office today.

The meeting was held in participation of Sramik Karmachari Peshajibi o Muktijoddha Samonoy Parishad and led by Shipping Minister M Shajahan Khan.

Mohammad Nasim, also the health minister, urged the government to resist with iron fists those creating chaos through the ongoing political violence.

Meanwhile, the Sramik Karmachari Peshajibi o Muktijoddha Samonoy Parishad will also hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on January 30.

At least 33 people were killed and scores have been injured in the recent political unrest. The people, mostly from civilian have died in petrol bomb attacks.
