11 senior cops transferred

In the latest reshuffle in the police administration, 11 senior officials have been transferred.

According to a circular by the home ministry today, Abdul Jalil Mandal, additional police commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has been made commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) while Quamrul Ahsan, deputy inspector general (DIG) of Railway Dhaka Range, has been made commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).

SMP commissioner Mizanur Rahman has been made deputy inspector general of Sylhet range, Md Shamsuddin, commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP), has been made additional commissioner of DMP.         

Makbul Hossain Bhuiyan, DIG of Sylhet range, has been transferred to Dhaka Police Headquarters.

Mahbub Hossain, additional DIG of Special Branch (SB) Dhaka, has been made DIG (current charge) of the same branch.

Mallik Faruk Islam, a director of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), has been made DIG (current charge) of Railway Dhaka range.

Atiqul Islam, additional DIG of Police Headquarters, has been made DIG (current charge) at the same place.

Manjur Kader Khan, DIG of Police Headquarters, has been transferred to Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Sohrab Hossain, vice-principal of Sardah Police Academy in Rajshahi, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters as DIG while Amulya Bhushan Barua, who has recently returned from an UN mission, has been made the vice-principal of the police academy.
