A fisherman was drowned and 4 others went missing after a fishing vessel drowned in the Bay of Bengal today. 

FV Salshahil, drowned around 1:00pm with 28 people including a captain about 15 nautical miles off Cox's Bazar, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting Razibul Islam, a lieutenant commander of Bangladesh Navy.

Fisherman of other fishing trawlers rescued 24 alive from the sea, later Suruj Mia, 30 died, said Muhammad Ali, owner of the vassal. 

Four fishermen were still missing while the report was filed around 8:45pm. 

The vessel might be drowned due to stormy weather in the sea, he added.

A rescue ship of Bangladesh Navy was on its way to join rescue operation.
