President, PM greet Trump
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have congratulated Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.
In separate messages to the 45th president of the USA, the Bangladeshi leadership extended their heartiest congratulations to Trump, and invited him and First Lady Melania Trump to visit Bangladesh to see the phenomenal development that is taking place in Bangladesh.
In his message, President Hamid said the US would march forward further on the path of progress and peace under the leadership of Donald Trump.
“Bangladesh firmly believes that under your [Trump] able leadership, the existing friendly relations between the two countries would further strengthen in the days ahead. We would like to work closely with you in bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest,” he said.
The president wished good health and a successful tenure and continued peace and prosperity of the people of the USA.
In her message of felicitation to the US President-elect, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “Your victory in the US presidential election is certainly a testimony to your extraordinary leadership quality to serving American people and also the global humanity.”
“I'm confident that under your leadership, the existing bilateral relations between our two friendly nations would further be strengthened,” she said, adding, “I look forward to working closely with you for advancing our bilateral and multilateral interests and contributing to creating a safe and secured world, where our coming generations could live and continue to prosper peacefully."
She also wished him and his family good health, long life and happiness, and continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of the USA.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia congratulated Donald Trump on his victory, and hoped that he would play an important role for the peace of the world and development of the people.
Opposition Leader Raushan Ershad and Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad also congratulated Trump. In her message, Raushan hoped that the newly elected president would play a vital role in providing duty-free facilities to all export-oriented products, including garments, of Bangladesh in the US market.
