Abul Hayat makes maiden music video appearance

Abul Hayat has done it all. With a career spanning almost 50 years on stage, television, film, advertisements, as well as a director and writer, the veteran actor is now slated to appear in a music video for the first time.

In the actors own words, “This is a new media, and in recent years music videos have taken centre stage in audiovisual entertainment. I have always dismissed it as a trend belonging to the new generation, but now I have made myself open to new ideas. For that I am glad, because I enjoyed my experience immensely. This video is a special venture, as it revolves around the Language Movement in 1952, without which Bangladesh would not come to be.”

The song for which the video was made by Yamin Elan is “Bayanno,” written by Lalon Lohani. The song describes plight and bloodshed of February 21, 1952. Nazir Mahmud is behind the tune, as well as vocals, while Mushfique Litu is in charge of musical arrangements.

The video, produced by CMV will be aired this week on most TV channels including GP Music, as well as YouTube.
